The Libertines frontman Carl Barat has rubbished reports that the band are set to reunite again.
Last weekend, the Sunday Mirror said Barat, Pete Doherty, Gary Powell and John Hassall were eager to return to the road again after their reunion last year.
But Barat said: “So that 'story' in the Mirror yesterday? Complete fabrication, folks.”
Speculation about a possible future reunion escalated earlier this month when Barat and Doherty posted a picture of themselves together on Twitter.
The Libertines reunion last year was centred around their performance at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
Doherty is set to return to the same events this weekend to headline as a solo performer. For more information about the Reading and Leeds festivals and all this summer's festivals, check out the Gigwise Festival Guide.
