Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott may be fearing for his job after guitarist Phil Collen was blown away by Tom Cruise during a visit to the Rock of Ages set.
Cruise plays rocker Stacee Jaxx in the Hollywood adaptation of the Broadway musical, and is already earning rave reviews.
Collen told VH1: "I was so impressed because he hadn't sung before and he had vocal lessons. He was literally doing five hours a day, five days a week, like truly real, getting in there and doing it. And we saw him and he was amazing.
"It was like Iggy Pop meets someone else and he's in great shape and it was like, 'What?' It was surreal, but he really pulls it off.
He added: "He's a total rock star"
Cruise performs Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar on Me in the film, as well as Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive.
Rock of Ages is scheduled for release on June 1, 2012.
