The Darkness have revealed that their new album is inspired by the likes of Aerosmith and Queen.
The band are currently working on their first record since their recent reformation in Lowestoft, where Dan Hawkins has a studio.
Justin Hawkins told Music Radar: "Home is where the heart is. When you write songs, you need a grounding to set the stories in. There's a lot about small-town life.
“The album has songs about stuff that's happened to us in the town. [As for influences], it's AC/DC, Queen, Aerosmith, et cetera."
The as-yet-untitled album is expected later this year.
The Darkness split in 2006 but got back together earlier this year to perform at the Download Festival in Donnington.
