Arctic Monkeys headlined the opening day of this year’s T In The Park festival on Friday (July 8), and used the occasion to celebrate guitarist Jamie Cook’s birthday.
The crowd serenaded the 26-year-old with a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ midway through the group’s career-spanning set.
Arctic Monkeys performance also included songs from their new album ‘Suck It And See’, which topped the UK album chart last month.
The band were joined by friend Miles Kane on the final song ‘505’, who singer Alex Turner described as “our best dressed friend”.
Arctic Monkeys also headlined the festival in 2007.
The festival continues today (July 9) and tomorrow (10) with headline performances from Coldplay and Foo Fighters.
