Alice Cooper has revealed that he wants to create a rock version of the X Factor.
The singer, who will perform at this weekends Download festival, said he wants to see more talent shows show proper musicians.
''Forget The X Factor. I'd like to see a TV show that discovers real songwriting rock genius. I'd call it Lunatic Fringe.," Cooper told the Daily Star.
He added: "Bands don't have attitude any more. They're all beige and have no showmanship. My generation was the opposite. Striving for normality was never an option.
"It's infinitely more fun watching somebody like Lady GaGa. The same with Katy Perry. She's got a great pop sense. Then you have Shakira, who is this bohemian animal."
Download will be headlined by Linkin Park, Def Leppard and System Of A Down, with The Darkness, Frank Turner and Bullet For My Valentine also due to appear.
