The Gaslight Anthem's frontman Brian Fallon has launched a side-project called The Horrible Crowes.
The pair, who are longtime friends, will release their debut album 'Elsie' on September 5.
The Horrible Crowes recorded the tracks earlier this year with producer Ted Hutt.
Fallon said: "As much as I have this fantasy in the Gaslight Anthem of being Bruce Springsteen, I also have this fantasy of being Tom Waits or Greg Dulli.
"These songs are very dark; they're like hymns for lonely people. It's really a trip through a breakdown and that dissent into madness and hopefully redemption."
