Footballer Joey Barton is set to be given an image makeover from the manager of Vampire Weekend, according to reports.
The Newcastle United player, who was jailed for six months in 2008, apparently befriended Ian Montone at the band's gigs.
A source told The Sun that he wanted Montone, who also managed The White Stripes, to help him show that he was a “changed man”.
"He is really dedicated to his music. He'd much rather go to a gig in a sweaty little venue than go to the kind of cheesy over-priced clubs most of the Premier League players prefer,” the source added.
