The Black Sand have been crowned Gigwise's 2011 King Of The Mountain winners at the Volvo Snowbombing festival in Austria.
The four-piece picked up the 2,000 Euro prize as they impressed with their strong vocals and charismatic cover of Nancy Sinatra's 'Bang Bang' on the final night of the festival (April 8) at the Europahaus venue.
They were among three finalists to take to the stage as part of Gigwise's annual competition for unsigned bands.
IONLYDATEMODELS and Swithboard Spectacular made it a tough decision for the crowd and Gigwise judges.
This year's Snowbombing festival included performances from The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim and Chase & Status.
