Manchester has been voted as having the UK's best live music scene.
The northern city came out top in a recent poll conducted by music copyright collection organisation PRS For Music.
The poll asked 3,000 participants, "Do you have enough local gigs in your area?". 77 per cent of Manchester locals who took part answered "yes''.
“Local live music gigs are a great way to bring communities together and for people to discover local talent. Manchester has always been a hot contender as music capital of the UK, but we also thoroughly encourage venues in the surrounding areas, such as Derbyshire, to seek local talent and host more live gigs,” said PRS for Music spokesman Barney Hooper.
Newcastle was close behind with Nottingham in third place.
