Roisin Murphy Slams Coldplay And Keane

For their irritating use of 'power chords'. Ugh!...

May 21, 2005 by Zoe Street

Moloko sexpot Roisin Murphy has voiced her disgust for power chord heavy rockers such as Keane and Coldplay - as she claims they are from the 'anthems by numbers' school of songwriting.

The sequin-sporting singer listed the offence as her 'Pet Hate' in Uncut magazine, and slammed the culprits as "annoying and predictable."

She rants, "Hearing ascending and descending power chords. The worst culprits are probably Keane and Coldplay - every song they release goes up and then down then up again.

"It's really annoying and predictable, especially when you know how easy it is to do that. It's anthems by numbers."
