Billy Bragg is being driven out of his village for his socialist views by hate mail.
The singer's neighbours, who live in the village of Burton Bradstock in west Dorset, have received over 30 anonymous letters attacking his political views and urging them to kick him out of the village.
Bragg believes the letters have been sent by disgruntled BNP supporters and urges his neighbours to ignore their comments.
''It is clear from the content that this anonymous letter has been written by a disgruntled supporter of the British National Party,'' Bragg told The Telegraph.
He added: "I have campaigned against the Tories in west Dorset for the past 10 years, but they have never stooped so low as to randomly circulate hate mail in the hope of undermining my credibility.
"This letter is nothing more than the powerless ranting of a bitter individual who is angry that, even in a sleepy village like ours, people reject the politics of racism.''
