  • London-based five piece Clor are centred on curly haired, Rochdale-born frontman Barry Dobbin and guitarist Luke Smith (a man who once made a living by writing music to Game Boy games). Together with bassist Max, drummer Harry and keyboardist Bob they make the most kaleidoscopic, zany and vibrant electro-guitar-pop you’re ever likely to hear.

Clor started to turn heads in 2004 when they released their ‘Welcome Music Lovers’ EP through Regal – containing sketchy versions of four tracks that would eventually appear on their debut album. However, it was with the quite brilliant single ‘Love and Pain’ released in April 2005 that they really started to make waves. A vivacious, fuzzy and impossibly catchy pop song, it was perhaps emulated by the video which saw Barry doing some rather fetching dance moves – moves that are often parodied during their searing live shows.

Following dates with the mighty Tom Vek and a string of their own dates, Clor’s nexy single ‘Outlines’ came out in summer 2005 and was quickly followed by their self-titled debut album. Despite not yet shifting too many units, ‘Clor’ has received widespread praise from critics and is undoubtedly one of the most refreshing debuts of the year. Clor’s new single ‘Good Stuff’ is released on October 10. To mark the end of a whirlwind year, the band are set to play an autumn MTV tour alongside Viva Voce, The Departure and The Kooks, and top it off with prestigious support slots with Maximo Park in December.
