My Chemical Romance: 'Danger Days' Was Our Last Shot

My Chemical Romance have described new album ‘Danger Days’ as their “last shot” after they scrapped a previous attempt.

The group had all but finished an untitled album before deciding to axe it and start again in January.

Singer Gerard Way told Gigwise the band came to the decision after recording recent single ‘Na Na Na’, which inspired them to change direction.

“We didn’t realise we were doing it until we were four songs in, but it was still super scary, but it happened naturally,” he said in an exclusive video interview, part one of which you can watch on Gigwise TV on the right hand side of this page.

“It wasn’t like we were sitting there or anybody was saying to us, ‘Oh you’ve got to do it over’. It just kind of started to happen.

“It was scary but it was like, ‘Alright well lets just do it, it’s our last shot’.”

The band's new album, ‘Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys’, is due to be released on November 22.

The album is the follow-up to the group’s 2006 effort, ‘The Black Parade’.

Part two will be available in the coming days.
