Rubert Murdoch has launched a new ticket company which offers lower booking fees.
Foxtix, which is based in Australia, is intended to break-up the duopoly enjoyed by current competitors Ticketek and Ticketmaster.
It will integrate the resources available under Murdoch's News Corporation, including social-networking website MySpace.
Adam McArthur, general manager of Foxtix, said the company will “give venues and promoters more control of the ticketing of their event and more buyer data - at a lower cost”.
Fans will also be able to purchase tickets to gig on mobile devices. The company launched yesterday (October 18).
