Songs by Jay-Z and Lady Gaga will appear in the opening episode to series two of Glee.
The episode, entitled Audition, will see the members of fictitious New Directions glee club travel to New York to compete in National finals.
Cast members perform the Jay-Z’s ‘Empire State of Mind’ and Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone’ in the episode, which airs on September 21.
Music supervisor P.J. Bloom said they chose Jay-Z’s track because “we needed a New York song”.
Songs by Travie McCoy and Poison will also be used in the opening episode, reports Rolling Stone.
Meanwhile, the second episode in season two will feature a cameo appearance from Britney Spears. Coldplay and Sir Paul McCartney are also in talks to work with the show's producers.
