Morrissey has launched an angry attack against China’s approach to animal welfare.
The former Smiths singer and animal rights campaign said the country’s track record was “absolutely horrific” and suggested that the Chinese were “subspecies”.
He made the comment when asked in an interview with The Guardian to list the things he dislikes.
"Did you see the thing on the news about their treatment of animals and animal welfare? Absolutely horrific,” he said.
“You can't help but feel that the Chinese are a subspecies."
Morrissey also listed other singers and people - "they are problems” - among his dislikes.
His attack against China comes just weeks after he called for the Queen to stop the British Army Guards wearing fur hats.
