The Drums have said that they are more likely to split than change the direction of their music.
In a video interview with Gigwise, the band said they were already working on the follow-up to their self-titled debut, which was released earlier this year.
“Kind of as soon as the first record was out we started brainstorming for the second one, and throwing ideas around,” frontman Jonathan Pierce said.
Drummer Connor Hanwick said he believed the band had “one direction to go in”.
“We're not looking to stray in any direction,” he continued. “I don't think we feel like we've full grasped what we want to do so we're not really shy or scared or ashamed to go as far as we can in that one direction."
Hanwick added: “The Drums are so specific that once we've hit the end of that road we'll break up before we turn into a different band.”
The Drums were among the performers at last weekend's Reading and Leeds festivals.
