Spaced and Shaun Of The Dead director Edgar Wright has described the soundtrack to his new film, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, as an "embarrassment of riches".
The movie, which opens in cinemas on August 25, features Michael Cera battling his new love interests seven evil ex's to win her for himself.
Cera's character Pilgrim plays in a band throughout the film with all music provided by Beck.
Speaking to Spinner, director Wright revealed that he recruited Beck through his long term friend, and Radiohead collaborator, Nigel Godrich.
"The way Beck did the Sex Bob-Omb songs and having discussed it with Nigel, their idea was to kind of record on eight track, make it like a demo and not really kind of produce it that much," said Wright,
"If you hear the title track, which is on the opening credits, 'We Are Sex Bob-Omb,' you can hear the drum rhythm changing constantly because they were just kind of riffing and experimenting."
Other acts on The Scott Pilgrim OST include Metric, Frank Black, Blood Red Shoes, Cornelius and Broken Social Scene.
