Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos has revealed that the band are working on a new album.
The singer said he has been writing new songs since the group released their 2009 album 'Tonight: Franz Ferdinand'.
But he refused to divulge any more details about the release, although he did hint that may arrive by next spring.
"I always talk before we do releases and talk about them too much, I get excited and I don't want to ruin the surprise,” he told BBC 6 Music.
Meanwhile, Kapranos also tipped The xx to win the 2010 Mercury Prize and said that they should celebrate by going to the pub.
