Muse were joined by U2 guitarist The Edge during their headline slot at Glastonbury tonight (June 26).

The musicians performed a cover of the Irish band’s hit ‘Where The Streets Have No Name’ on the Pyramid Stage.

The Edge’s appearance came after U2 were forced to pull out of their scheduled headline slot when singer Bono injured his back.

The band were replaced last night (June 25) by Gorillaz.

Clearly emotional, The Edge was embraced by Muse singer Matt Bellamy at the song’s conclusion.

Muse, who last headlined the festival in 2004, thrilled fans with an energetic set, which spanned their entire back catalogue.

Opening with ‘Uprising’, the band also played ‘Supermassive Black Hole’, ‘Plug In Baby’ and ‘Resistance’.

The near two-hour showcase concluded with a raucous rendition of ‘Knights Of Cydonia’, which ended with plumes of smoke shooting from the stage.
