With a weekend of festivals and guaranteed sunshine on the way, Gigwise is taking a break from the office and hitting the beach.

Or, at least we're enjoying looking at some of our favourite rock stars as they make the most of some time off.

From Metallica's James Hetfield to Britney Spears and a near-naked Amy Winehouse to U2's The Edge, it seems no musician can resist some time on the sand.
