Manic Street Preachers star Nicky Wire has revealed that Aerosmith are a big influence on their new album.
The band are currently recording to the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Journal For Plague Lovers’.
In an interview with XFM, Wire said that while their 2007 LP ‘Send Away The Tigers’ was comparable to Aerosmith’s 1987 album ‘Permanent Vacation’, their next effort “is our ‘Pump’”.
Released in 1989, Aerosmith’s ‘Pump’ was praised by critics and fans for its use of a horn section.
“It’s going to be an amazing album,” Wire added of the band’s new record.
It is not yet clear when Manic Street Preachers plan to release the as yet untitled new album.
