Dizzee Rascal has been asked to stand in for U2 at Glastonbury if singer Bono is unable to recovery from injury, it’s been reported.
The Irish band are scheduled due to headline the opening night of the festival on June 25.
But doubts have been raised over their slot after Bono was forced to undergo emergency surgery last week after injuring his back during rehearsals.
The incident has already triggered the cancellation of the opening date of U2’s 360 Degree tour, in Salt Lake City on June 3.
According to The Sun, Glastonbury organisers want Dizzee, who is already on the bill, to “step up to the plate” if Bono is unable to recover.
Organiser Michael Eavis has also apparently made inquiries to see whether Coldplay could play the bash.
Glastonbury takes place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from June 25-27. Muse and Stevie Wonder are the other main stage headliners.
