She & Him played their first ever London show last night at KOKO in Camden.
The band, comprising of M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel, were joined by a series of musicians to play through hits from both of their albums including a very special cover.
Leaning heavily on their most recent album, this years 'Volume 2', the pair impressed the crowd with renditions of 'Thieves', 'Don't Look Back' and 'Me and You'.
Singer and actress, Zooey Deschanel struggled to talk to the crowd with audience members constantly interrupting her between song chat with cries of "We love you Zooey!".
She did however point out that KOKO was the tallest building she had ever played in and also had "The biggest disco ball I've ever seen."
The hour and a half long set ended with rousing versions of 'In The Sun' and debut album favourite 'Why Do You Let Me Stay Here' before the duos backing musicians left Zooey and M.Ward alone to perform a spine tingling cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins's 'I Put A Spell On You'.
She & him continue their European tour today at the Matt Groening curated ATP festival before returning to London on Monday to play at Shepherd's Bush Empire.
