Moby has formed a pastiche heavy metal band called Diamondsnake.
Formed in April, the New York four piece features vocalist Phil Costello, Moby on lead guitar, Dave Gill on bass and drummer 'Tomato'.
Having recorded 15 songs at Headgear studios in Brooklyn with producer Scott Norton last month, Diamondsnake have announced details of a one-off show at the Highline Ballroom on June 17th.
In their own words, “Further public displays of rock will follow at the behest of the seers. Cancel everything.”
The group claimed they formed from “a shared love for entering a small, dark, and musty room, plugging into a few amps, and playing as loud as possible for a seriously long time.”
Diamondsnake will also perform a live session for Live on WFMU 91.1 in New Jersey on June 15th.
