Joni Mitchell has accused Bob Dylan of being a “fake”.
In an interview with the LA Times, Mitchell said there was nothing genuine about the veteran singer-songwriter.
“Bob is not authentic at all,” she said.
“He's a plagiarist, and his name and voice are fake. Everything about Bob is a deception. We are like night and day, he and I.”
Dylan, who was born Robert Zimmerman, chose his stage name at the star of his music career.
Mitchell was born Roberta Joan Anderson, but changed her name following her marriage to Chuck Mitchell.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Dylan is due to headline this summer’s Hop Farm festival in Kent.
