Animal Collective's Panda Bear has cast doubt over the band's future.
The US group are currently on hiatus after completing their year-long tour in support of recent album 'Merriweather Post Pavilion'.
In an interview with BBC 6 Music, Panda Bear – real name Noah Lennox – said the jaunt had left them “exhausted” and that they were “lying low”.
But when asked whether he expected the group to reunite for another album, Lennox seemed uncertain about their plans.
“There have been times in the past when I’ve thought we were done,” he said.
“So I don’t know, this could be it. I don’t expect it to be, I should say, but you never know.”
As well as 'Merriweather Post Pavilion', Animal Collective also released the critically acclaimed 'Fall Be Kind EP' at the end of 2009.
At the time, the record was described as a bridge between 'Merriweather Post Pavilion' and their next full-length studio effort.
