Jessica Simpson has ruled out joining the Smashing Pumpkins – because she's not wild enough.
The group, fronted by the singer's friend Billy Corgan, are currently holding open auditions to recruit a new keyboardist and bassist.
But Simpson said she didn't think she had what the band were looking for.
"I don't know that I would be a good addition to the Smashing Pumpkins," she told MTV.
"You gotta be a little bit more wild and crazy."
"I mean, I have some crazy moments in my life or things about me, but I don't know that I can stand on stage and represent Billy the way he is.
“He does that fine on his own."
Earlier this week, Simpson revealed she had recorded a song with Corgan for the title track track to her new TV show, The Price Of Beauty.
As Gigwise reported last week, The Smashing Pumpkins have said their auditions for new members are open to anyone.
