It has been confirmed that Bryan Ottoson, guitarist with American Head Charge, was found dead yesterday in his bunk on the bands tour bus in North Charleston.
According to North Charleston police records it has been determined that Ottoson died as a result of a prescription-drug overdose. Police found a pill bottle next to his body containing “numerous amounts of prescription medicine” according to MTV.com.
Members of American Head Charge have told police they last saw Ottoson alive around 4am on Monday, just as the band were leaving Jessup, Maryland where they had played the night before. Ottoson had reportedly consumed large amounts of alcohol at the bar that night.
Police were called to the scene at 6:30pm on Tuesday, at which time Ottoson was already dead. The band had been on tour with Mudvayne, Life of Agony and Bloodsimple. They are expected to miss at least the next three dates of the tour.
