Lily Allen confirmed plans to take a break from music as she was named Best British Female at the BRIT Awards in London last night (February 16).
The singer beat the likes of Florence & The Machine and Leona Lewis to the award at Earls Court.
Allen revealed her plans to embark on a new direction when she was asked on the red carpet about her record label EMI's current financial problems.
She told BBC 6 Music: "I imagine it’s quite worrying for them. I personally am leaving so I don’t really mind.
“I’m just not making another album for a while. I’m moving on to pastures new so record sales and stuff aren’t really bothering me right now."
Allen added that she would “miss” music and had decided to take a break because “I just don’t really want to go on the road for another three years”.
The singer is currently working on launching her own record label.
