Glastonbury Festival organiser Emily Eavis says the Pyramid Stage bill is “pretty much sewn up” and that one headline act will be a Worthy Farm virgin.
U2 and Jack Johnson are the only two confirmed acts at the music and arts extravaganza from June 23rd to the 27th, and Eavis seems buoyant about the rest of the line-up.
“We’re very, very pleased with it,” she enthused to BBC6music. “It’s a 40 year celebration this year so we’ve got some amazing highlights from the full 40 years and also some people who haven’t played before, one headliner in particular, so we’re very pleased with it.
“We’re still slightly confirming the Sunday night headliner but apart from that, we’ve pretty much finalised the Pyramid Stage which is good.”
Asked whether Muse are the Saturday headline band, Eavis side-stepped the question, adding: “I think this is the first year that people genuinely don’t know who is going to be playing, which is a good thing.”
Eavis continued that the line-up will be revealed sooner rather than later.
“We’re hoping to announce the names soon because I think there’s an air of desperation and I understand that people want to know, so as soon as we can, we will announce the names,” she said.
