Child abuse campaigners in Florida are sending out sex offender warning leaflets about the imminent arrival of The Who's Pete Townshend.
The guitarist was placed on the sex offenders register in the UK for five years in 2003 after he admitted downloading child pornography online which he claimed was research for a book.
Townshend is due to arrive in Miami on February 7th to perform at the prestigious half-time slot of the Super Bowl with The Who – much to the concern of some campaigners.
The leaflet from Protect Our Children Inc. – which you can see below – has been sent out to to 1,500 homes and local schools and says it has been issued in the “interest of public safety.”
Despite his arrest and admission of accessing child pornography on the internet, Townshend was never prosecuted.
