New Found Glory's Chad Gilbert Gets Cancer All Clear

New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert underwent surgery on Tuesday for suspected thyroid cancer, but fortunately no trace of the disease was found.

Three weeks ago doctors in the US discovered a potentially cancerous lump on the 28-year-old's throat so they decided to operate as a precaution.

Yesterday, Gilbert tweeted: "They removed half my thyroid but no cancer. Thanks for the prayers love you!”

His current girlfriend, Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams, later wrote on her Twitter page: “Wanted to say to all our fans, friends, and family - thank you so much for all the love and support you've shown for Chad. Let's never take what we have for granted. One life, one chance!”
