Amy Winehouse Pleads Guilty To Christmas Pantomime Assault

Amy Winehouse has pleaded guilty to assaulting a theatre manager at a Christmas pantomime last month.

The singer lashed out at 27-year-old Richard Proud during a performance of Cinderella at the Milton Keynes Theatre in Buckinghamshire on December 19.

Wino, from Barnet, London, admitted the common assault and disorder charge at Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court this morning.

The judge gave Winehouse a conditional discharge and she was ordered dig deep and pay £185 in compensation and costs.

District judge Peter Crabtree told her: "Mr Pound is a person whose job involves interaction with the public.

"If he's assaulted he deserves the court's protection. In this case it's obvious that alcohol played its part."

Upon passing sentence, he added: "It may be harder than a fine because you have now got to stay on the straight and narrow for the next two years

26-year-old Winehouse was originally arrested on December 23 after voluntarily handing herself into police.

The pantomime starred Hollywood legend Mickey Rooney and washed up comedian Bobby Davro.

    • A young woman in Sweden was just fined about £800 for throwing an egg at a Neo-Nazi, this multi-millionairess gets fined a pittance for assaulting someone just trying to do his job - more of a farce than the pantomime she was ruining!

    • I think it is a real shame that due to her own angry actions the media focus surrounding this excellent singer is usually negative. I really enjoyed 'Frank' and 'Back to Black' but I would never pay to watch her gig as I wouldn't know whether she would bother to perform properly. Sort it out Amy and lets see some more of the real headlines- about the music!!
