The family of Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan have issued a statement about his untimely death.
Issuing it on avengedsevenfold.com they hailed him as a “genius” who was “much too young to fall.”
Sullivan passed away at his home in Huntington Beach, southern California on December 28 at the age of just 28. The exact cause of his death is yet to be confirmed.
The full family statement reads:
We would like to thank all of Jimmy’s fans for the heartfelt comments that have been posted – it is comforting to know that his genius and antics were appreciated and that he was loved so much. Our hearts are broken – he was much too young to fall.

- his genius in the music world will never be matched. he was the babe ruth of rock n roll and there will never be another.

- Jimmy was an inspiration to me, and many other people. My first concert was an A7X show. I met him, and he inspired me to start drumming. He was a saint on the drum set, and also a downright good person. Thanks Rev, you'll be really really missed

I just sadly can't.
Jimmy was a true genius and a master with the drums.
No one could ever be like him at all, I know I didn't know him personaly but from what I know he seemed like a really nice person
