La Roux are to begin work on their second album in France in the coming weeks.
Singer Elly Jackson said the duo intended to spend the time writing but warned fans not to expect the follow-up to their self-titled debut anytime soon.
"We're going to stay in my manager's house and use the quiet time to our advantage," she told BBC 6 Music.
"We've only got two weeks writing time between Christmas and the summer so unless we manage to write a record in two weeks I don't think there will be anything in terms of a second record for a while."
Jackson added that she and bandmate Ben Langmaid had “a fairly clear idea” of what direction they wanted the second record to go in.
She added: "I think there will be a natural instrument or two on there though which will make a change from the first record."
La Roux wowed fans with a headlining performance at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London last night.
