Muse, Paramore and Green Day Go Head-To-Head At People's Choice Awards

Muse, Paramore and Green Day are going head-to-head at next year's People's Choice Awards.

Also nominated in the best 'Rock Band' category are Kings of Leon and Daughtry.

Voting has opened on the People's Choice Awards website with the winners to be announced at a ceremony at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on January 6, 2009.

The awards honour artists in music, movie and popular culture across a mind-boggling number of categories.

Also nominated across the various music categories are Jay-Z, Eminem, Flo Rida, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Beyonce, Lil' Wayne, The Black Eyed Peas and many more.

However, it's Robert Pattinson's Twilight Saga that truly dominates the awards with six nominations.

The vampire film is shortlised for favourite movie and franchise, while stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are up for favourite actor and actress.

Co-star Taylor Lautner is nominated for breakout movie actor and the trio are also in the running for favourite on-screen team.
