Chris Brown has acknowledged that some people want to see him jailed for his attack against former girlfriend Rihanna.
Brown, 20, told MTV that he still had the support of fans but admitted he was “confused” about the perception of others.
“They don't want to see me do anything… they wanna see me kind of, basically in jail,” he said.
The singer pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna in Los Angeles on the eve of the Grammy Awards in February.
He was sentenced in August to five years' probation and ordered to partake in community labour.
In the interview, which airs on Friday, Brown attributed the attack to “anger” and said that therapy sessions were helping assess his actions.
Both stars have spoken publicly about the incident over recent days as they prepare to release their new studio albums.
Earlier this week, Rihanna said she hoped her experience could highlight the problem of domestic abuse.
