Drake has said fellow hip-hop star Lil' Wayne will continue to release music while in prison.
The rapper pleaded guilty to attempted gun possession during a New York court hearing last week.
He will remain free on bail until he is sentenced in February.
News of his plea was followed by the swift release of a new mixtape, entitled 'No Ceilings', while two other new albums are also expected in December.
Drake, who is part of Lil' Wayne's Young Money stable, said the rapper was trying to keep positive and focus on his music.
"He's kinda more concerned about getting as much music as he possibly can, so that when he's in there, people are still satisfied musically with Lil Wayne product,” the rapper told Rap Up.
"That's just the mind of a true businessman."
Meanwhile, Drake, one of hip-hop's rising stars, said he would fly the flag for the brand while the rapper was in jail.
"I just want to play my part as a team member and keep the brand strong until the boss gets home,” he said.
Lil' Wayne's forthcoming releases are thought to include his long-awaited rock album 'The Rebirth' and 'Tha Carter IV'.
He is expected to be sentenced to a year behind bars.
