Fans can read and discuss a novel every week with the band...

Marcus Mumford from the folking brilliant Mumford & Sons has started his very own book club.

Each week the singer is picking a book for fans to read and discuss via the official Mumford & Sons website.

Week number one's choice is the 1992 romance novel 'All The Pretty Horses' by Cormac McCarthy, a best-seller that was later adapted into a movie featuring Penelope Cruz and Matt Damon.

Explaining the decision to start up the book club, Mumford said: "Firstly, I want to read more. I believe that you write what you read, just in the same way that if you’re a musician, you play what you listen to. So maybe all of our writing will improve.

"Secondly, Oh! The glory of discussion! We get to hear what each other has to say about these books."

The limited-edition version of Mumford & Sons' debut album 'Sigh No More' has book-like packaging.
