Robbie Williams will be presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Music award at next year's BRITs, it's been announced.
The fifteen-time BRIT winner will collect the prize at London's Earls Court on February 16.
Williams is also scheduled to close the awards ceremony with a performance of some of his greatest hits.
Ged Doherty, Chairman of The BRITs Committee, described the singer as “one of the outstanding artists and performers of his generation”.
Williams, who is currently promoting his new album, shot to fame in 1989 as part of the boy band Take That.
He won four BRIT awards with the group before embarking on a solo career in the mid 90s.
The singer picked up his first solo BRIT award for Best Male in 1999. He repeated the feat in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Previous Outstanding Contribution to Music winners include U2, The Pet Shop Boys and Sir Paul McCartney.
Next year's BRITs will mark the 30th anniversary of the awards ceremony and will be broadcast live on ITV 1.
