On 'Russian Roulette'...

Wrestler Paul Heyman Accuses Rihanna Of Copying His Album Cover Add to My Fav Bands List

Not only has Rihanna ripped off a Queens of the Stone Age title with her latest effort 'Rated R', now the pop megastar has been accused of copying an album cover.

Wrestling icon Paul Heyman claims Rihanna's 'Russian Roulette' single cover mimics his 1998 compilation album 'ECW: Extreme Music'.

Posting the two respective pieces of artwork on his blog, Heyman wrote: “Hmmmmmmmmmmm.........  is this familiar to anyone?”

“Here's Rihanna's album cover today, and here's The Sandman on the cover of the ECW album in 1998. Hardcore thievery? Dangerously Inspired? "Extreme" Coincidence?

“We'll let you be the judge. (Applications now being accepted for jury and executioner).”

Make you mind up below:

  • This kind of thing happens all the time. I should know, I edit a blog about album art. http://blog.albumartexchange.com Rihanna's cover was inspired by kinky S&M practices, not professional wrestling. I'm not sure what inspired Heyman. Perhaps he was inspired by 1996's Cannibal Corpse by Vile: http://www.albumartexchange.com/covers.php?id=39436

  • Yes, they are similar, but there is no way to no for certain that the ECW CD cover was the inspiration. For all we know Rihanna isn't a fan of wrestling nor knew the ECW cover existed. Also, its not Rihanna that chooses her album artwork direction.
