Advances sales for tickets to see the Michael Jackson concert movie This Is It are continuing to exceed expectations, the film's production studio has said.
A spokesman for Columbia Pictures told Reuters cinemas were being forced to add extra screens for the film, which goes on general release for two weeks from October 28.
Online ticket seller Fandango has already sold out more than 1000 show times in the US, while sales around the world have been described as “extraordinary”.
But This Is It's pre-sales figures are still lagging behind The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which is released on November 20.
However, advance tickets for the highly anticipated Robert Pattinson-starring vampire film went on sale a month ahead of This Is It.
The film, which features footage of Jackson preparing for his ill-fated London comeback shows, is on course to become the biggest concert movie of all time.
Jackson died on June 25 - just two weeks before his comeback was due to begin. His death has been ruled homicide.
