Robbie Williams is losing out to X Factor winner Alexandra Burke in the race to top the UK singles chart.
The former Take That star's comeback single 'Bodies' sold 40,000 copies in its opening day, while Burke's 'Bad Boys' shifted 90,000 units.
Both acts debuted their songs last Sunday on The X Factor, where Williams' performance received a mixed response from the media.
Current number one 'Oopsy Daisy' by Chipmunk is down two places at number three on the midweek chart, according to Music Week.
Meanwhile, Editors 'In This Light And On This Evening' is on course to top the album chart.
The Birmingham band's third album is outselling Chipmunk’s debut LP 'I Am Chipmunk', while 'She Wolf' by Shakira is at number three.
Albums from Bob Dylan and The Flaming Lips also look set to break into the top-30 this week.

- Robbie's album will sell very well.

- Both sales are huge. Any other week Robbie would be number one with over 40K first day. 'Bodies' is currently #1 in half a dozen countries already. His album will be massive.

- Alexandra Burke is unheard of in the majority of the countries is in the world, unlike Robbie who is doing exceedingly well worldwide, let's just see who sells the most units worldwide shall we?
