Electronic Arts have announced that Rock Band is to be released on the iPhone and iPod touch.
The application, released later this month, will allow users to play solo or access a multiplayer mode via Bluetooth.
It will include 20 songs by the likes of Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters and Pixies.
Although the game has been downscaled for the release, users will still be able to play along on guitar, bass, drums or vocals.
An official release date and price for the Rock Band application has yet to be announced.
