The Maccabees played a triumphant sold out show at London’s Brixton Academy on Saturday night and spoke of how it was the highpoint of their career so far.
Talking exclusively to Gigwise lead singer Orlando Weeks said “Friends of mine have almost only been coming to see us all these years because they thought that one day we’d get to play Brixton Academy so it’s a massive achievement for us.”
Speaking before the gig Weeks described how he grew up just ten minutes walk away from the famous venue and attended gigs by Jurassic 5 and The Vines there as well as Arcade Fire and TV On The Radio in more recent years.
The band then played an epic set performing every song from this years album ‘Wall Of Arms’, a selection of B-Sides and a large amount of their much loved debut album ‘Colour It In’.
