50 Cent has apologised for calling Kanye West and Lady GaGa's cancelled Fame Kills tour “the gay tour”.
The rapper made the comment during an interview on New York radio station Hot 97 on Wednesday.
He also claimed during the interview with Angie Martinez that West was “cool with the gay folk”, adding: “He's conscious of the gay community and wants them to buy his CDs."
In a statement on Thursday, 50 Cent said his comments had been taken “entirely out of context” and he apologised to Lady GaGa, but not West.
“When I referred to the Lady Gaga tour as 'the gay tour,' I was basically repeating what I thought she had referred to the tour in the past," the rapper said.
"It was not my intention to offend anyone. I don't have a problem with anyone's lifestyle and have no issue with Lady Gaga. She makes great music."
As previously reported on Gigwise, West and Lady GaGa's Fame Kills tour, which was due to begin next month, was cancelled yesterday.
Concert promoter Live Nation made the announcement in a short statement, but failed to offer further explanation.
Refunds are available at point of purchase for fans who had already purchased tickets.
