Stereophonics singer Kelly Jones claims that the band's upcoming new album inspired Wayne Rooney to score against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.
Jones explains that he gave his close friend Rooney an advance copy of 'Keep Calm and Carry On' ahead of the match and the player immediately loved it.
He told the BBC: "I popped by and gave him an album promo and within about 15 minutes of me driving away he was texting me his favourite songs - he was into it.
"I took the album to Rooney the week before the day they were playing Tottenham. He scored a belting goal that day as well and I can only put it down to the music really. Hopefully he's going to cover his arms in lots of tattoos of the song titles - he's a big fan.”
Manchester United beat Tottenham 3-1 at White Hart Lane, breaking Spurs' perfect start to the Premiership season.
Wayne Rooney famously has a Stereophonics tattoo on his arm and invited the band to perform at his wedding last year.
