Simon Cowell believes that The Beatles would have flopped on X Factor if they had auditioned for the show.
The music industry supremo says he wouldn't have put the Fab Four through as he doesn't believe drummer Ringo Starr would have made the grade.
The 49-year-old blathered: "No, we would have said, 'we'll take those three but probably lose the drummer'. Ringo, I'm afraid, we would have said is 'bad news'."
X Factor is the UK version of American Idol and has four categories – groups, under 25's boys, under 25's girls and over 25's.
Cowell's controversial comments come just a day after Beatles Day when all of their albums were reissued as remasters and The Beatles Rock Band hit the shelves.
