Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready has admitted he listened to The Rolling Stones over the Beatles when he was younger.
But in an interview with MTV, McCready said that didn't mean “I don't love the Beatles”.
The guitarist said the Liverpool group's harmonies were particularly influential on his musical development.
He also spoke about the significance of their gig on top of the Apple building in London.
"The concert footage on the roof was probably something that was integral in my growing up,” he said.
McCready's comments coincide with the comprehensive digital re-release of the Beatles' back catalogue today.
